A/N: Vocaloid english voicebank. This is a perspective piece, considering my taking on some of Bakura’s thoughts during his duel with Pharaoh on Kaiba’s Battleship. It jumps right in from the moments after Ryou is given back control of his body prior to Slifer’s attack in the hopes that Atem will choose to not attack because of his condition. Ultimately, this is, perhaps, a little generous regarding Bakura’s opinion of his host, but that’s what makes it fanfiction. Hope you enjoy.

Your eyes narrow as you watch him stumble, collapse, legs unable to support the weight of his abused body. His visage displays a myriad of dark emotions: raw pain, despair and fear, overwhelming exhaustion.
Too weak.
His body is shaking, overtaxed. You take a half-step forward and he turns his head as though he hears you. You pause. His eyes are dull, empty, lifeless, and you notice, as though for the first time, the dark bruise-like marks beneath them. You note his gaunt features, thin skin stretched over sharp bones. Fresh blood stains the bandages wrapping his arm, dark red and dripping onto the deck, raw from the wound that is less than a week old. Your face darkens in memory. The knife had gone deep. You felt it, felt it sink into the muscle, felt the fibers break and tear as you twisted the blade and ripped it out, felt—as though from a great distance—the screaming, and the fire-hot pain.
And you had laughed.
Your jaw tightens, teeth clench. And realization, like ice down your spine, hits you with raw clarity:
You have neglected your Hikari.
Wow 3.3.5a download zip. When did you last allow his body to sleep? Had it been days…? A week? You aren’t sure. Your soul is fueled by the Ring, his body nothing more than a machine you operate. You do not feel his hunger, his thirst, his yearning for rest—only the incessant driving force pushing you forward, forward, forward, towards your goal.
And now you play a dangerous game, gambling with the boy’s life. He is your only anchor to this reality. And you have been blind. He is Weak. He will not withstand a blow from a god in this state. It will shatter his mind.
You glance to your right where the young, ethereal blonde Egyptian looks on smugly. He thinks he has won, believes that your Hikari is his trump card. But he doesn’t know Pharaoh like you do. You look across the deck—and you see the determination in the ancient ruler’s eyes. He is weighing the consequences, pitting the abject child pleading weakly for aid that, it seems, none of these good, self-righteous saints, are about to offer…against the fate of millions of innocents.
And Ryou is going to lose.
The decision is made. And for the greater good, a sacrifice must be made to the Sky Dragon.
’You have severely miscalculated, Marik,’ You hiss, ’And you have exhausted my patience.’Yugioh Dark Spirit Revealed 2
’No,’ Marik growls, ’The Pharaoh won’t attack him. Wait. You’ll see—’
You take another step towards your Hikari, and the boy again glances up, seeming to fix dull eyes right on you. You clench your teeth harder and ground out, ’I’m not willing to take that risk—this child is my tool. I still need him. I will not place his life in the hands of a murderer.’
The Ring around your neck begins to glow, the heat spreads through your limbs. You crouch down and wrap your arms around the boy. He sighs, and you feel his body lean into you.
’No!’ Marik screams at you, but he is powerless, no more than a specter in your host’s mind. He cannot stop you. You feel Ryou’s spirit leave the broken body in your arms, rushing into the refuge of the Ring, fleeing the unbearable pain that fills the mortal vessel. And, with a breath, you take his place.
Immediately, pain assaults you. With your Hikari in the Ring, there is no other soul to shoulder the pain, the exhaustion, the hunger—and it is like a black wave crashing over you. And, as never before, you realize that Ryou Bakura’s spirit is strong
But you are strong also.
You stand, and gasps of shock travel around the deck.
’Really, now, Pharaoh.’ You sneer, forcing a confident smirk to mask the aches, sharp and dull, that run through this body like currents of electricity, ’Did you think that the power of the Millennium Rod could contain me?’ You laugh loudly. ’You should have known better.’Spirit Card Yugioh
The Pharaoh opens his mouth, no doubt to say something to the effect of your villainy and impending defeat, but you cut him off, in no mood to listen to his preaching. ’Make your move, Pharaoh,’ you snarl. Your vision has begun to blur, and it’s becoming more difficult to maintain your posture. But you refuse to show any sign of weakness. ’I know when I am beat, and my patience is wearing thin.’
The Pharaoh narrows his eyes, and still he hesitates as though he expects you to suddenly reveal some hidden stratagem, a last effort to save your own hide, but you know your hand. This game is over. Your deck cannot defeat a summoned god. You chuckle darkly, ’Go ahead,’ You hiss quietly, barely audible. ’The game is yours.’ You pause, and then add, ’For now.’Yu-gi-oh The Dark Spirit Revealed
